Version 2.6 restores the wooden bridges in the Russo-Swedish war mod.

Version 2.5 corrects the reversed French flags in the Bautzen campaign games.

This version of the mod uses 3D infantry units with flags. The view flas toggle has been disabled (except for the victory flags).

The mod now includes (by kind permission) Ed William's Sound Pack for the Napoleonic Campaigns series, so you won't have to go to his Volcano Man site to download the sounds separately.

Version 2.0 of the Bautzen mod incorporates features that were already introduced in the Waterloo, Leipzig, and 1814 mods, brings the mod up to date with the latest official patch, and includes my first attempt at enhancing the ship images. The improvement of the ship images is an ongoing process, and will be continued in later versions of the mod. At the moment all of the ship images except one have been redone, but more research needs to be done on relative scales and mast and sail configurations.

My Bautzen mod version 1.0 (and later) is actually two different mods: one designed for action that takes place in Finland, and one designed for the first chapter of the German Befreiungskrieg.

The German part of the Bautzen mod is very similar (but not identical) to the Dresden portion of the Leipzig mod. The fields are a bit greener than in Dresden (it's earlier in the year) and a few of the leaders have different portraits, but the visible differences aren't huge. But as much as I would have liked to, you can't just copy the Dresden material into the Bautzen folder because of a lot of small changes that go on beneath the hood.

The Suomi mod is a different story. Unless John Tiller has a change of heart and performs an overhaul on the basic program, Swedish units in the Russo-Swedish War scenarios will be running around against French flag backgrounds. This probably stretches most wargamers' indifference to graphics past the breaking point.

To correct this problem I've subjected the Russo-Swedish War portion of Campaign Bautzen to something conceptually similar to a complete make-over. By following the installation instructions and using the Desktop icons that I've provided you can play the Russo-Finnish War scenarios with Swedish units that actually look like Swedes.

BASIC INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Start with a clean, freshly installed version of JTS' Campaign Bautzen. Apply the latest patch. If you want to be really careful about things you may want to make a copy of the unmodded game before proceeding: it won't take up much space and it will make your life easier if you make a mistake in installing the mods and have to start over.

The easiest way to make a back-up copy of the game is to simply right-click on the Campaign Bautzen folder wherever you have it installed, and then select 'copy' from the drop down menu (these instructions are written for Windows XP - your mileage may vary). Move your mouse pointer to an empty spot on the screen, right-click again, and select 'paste' from the drop down menu. It will take a few seconds depending on how fast your computer is, but you'll end up with a fully working copy of Campaign Bautzen named 'Copy of Campaign Bautzen'. You can then rename it to anything you want to distinguish it from the modded versions of the game.
